Experience Daintree · From Port Douglas

Ziplining above the Daintree

A nine-hour day from Port Douglas that swaps the usual gorge visit for about two hours on a zipline through the rainforest canopy, plus a guided beach walk at Cape Tribulation and a mangrove cruise. Pick it if you want to see the forest from above, not just from a boardwalk.

Daintree Tour, Cruise & Zipline

About this experience

This is the Daintree day for people who get bored on boardwalks. Experience Daintree picks you up in Port Douglas, crosses the ferry and stops at Alexandra Lookout before a guided walk on the beach at Cape Tribulation. Then comes morning tea at the adventure centre and roughly two hours of ziplining through the canopy. Lunch, a one-hour mangrove cruise on the river and ice cream fill the afternoon, and you are back around 5pm.

The rules are worth reading before you book. The minimum age is four and the maximum weight 120 kg. Children under 14 need one adult for every four kids. There is a 150 m uphill walk to the start, a waiver to sign, and no loose clothing, jewellery or open-toed shoes. The zipline runs in the rain.

Mossman Gorge is not on this itinerary. If the gorge matters more to you than the canopy, take the Port Douglas small-group tour from the same operator instead.

  • About two hours of ziplining through the canopy
  • Guided beach walk at Cape Tribulation
  • One-hour mangrove cruise on the Daintree River
  • Alexandra Lookout and the cable ferry
  • Lunch and ice cream included, back around 5pm
